Mission Statement Taxi Industry Forum of Western Australia Incorporated is a non-profit voluntary organisation dedicated to the improvement of the taxi industry for the benefit of the public, professional drivers and all other taxi industry participants.

History Our association was originally formed in 1989 and registered as "Our voice taxi assn". Following the Annual General Meeting in 2006 after a major change to the executive committee it was decided to make several changes including the renaming of the association a constitution upgrade and a change in direction was needed to bring it up to speed with a rapidly changing industry.

Our special thanks go to a number of previous committee persons who have worked long and hard with no financial reward for and on behalf of you the drivers and we take this opportunities to assure you your new committee will continue to do so as we strive to become the only fully pro-active body who are dedicated to all Perth taxi operators needs.

So what does this mean for you?

  1. We are the peak industry body for taxi drivers. We are the only fully pro-active body whose executive is fully dedicated to Perth Cabbies.
  2. We are the only team that is willing to take time out of our day when drivers have issues with DPI, Police or a TDS.
  3. We are the body who have said "enough is enough" to the Minister and her Department and will no longer tolerate being treated as second class members of the community.
  4. We are the ones still working to get better conditions for you.
  5. Support and improve working condition for drivers improve safety and the relationship between TDS and taxi drivers.
  6. Improve relationship between taxi drivers and the public.
  7. To ensure that income derived from taxi driving is relative to the standards demanded of taxi driver, the hours he/she works and the risk he/she undertakes in attempting to earn that income.
  8. To monitor and defend all actions by individuals, groups, organizations, radio companies and government bodies that are detrimental to a taxi drivers income.
  9. To provide legal support for its members.
  10. To promote public awareness of taxi drivers as professional private transport operators and the role in the community.
  11. To preserve common low rights and natural justice for drivers, also referred to as human right.
